Future Sunsets

Willpower

I sense the dawn approaching me
I’ve been waiting, shrouded within shadows
It’s reminding me of when I used to not care, not at all

The future shone so brightly back then
Have I always walked this path strewn to the side?

I clung mindlessly, I held faith in that I would be better off on my own
I turned my back, believing that I was on the right pathway, that I’d not fallen

The night falls, I’m thinking back to the days when you walked beside me
What was forgotten cant yet be found
I wanted to be strong, find strength within so I could protect everyone
Rise to the cause, striking my enemies
But vengeance had conquered me then

I’ll close my eyes so I won’t see the truth underneath
Times passing by, can’t always be blinded
Is it best for me to turn the other way, shutting out my past?
Is it too late to reclaim the past that I’d forsaken?

I wonder: What’s the meaning of my dual existence now?

The night’s embracing me
It’s cold now, and I wait for an eternity to pass before I walk into the starlit night

The dawn breaks, I’m thinking back to the nights
With you alongside me, what was forgotten can still be found
I know that Im alive. Ill find the strength that I need to save the ones I love
Rise unafraid and overcome all my fears
I won’t let it consume me now
